Meet Melissa Robinson... one creative mama.

1. We are so excited to have you on our weekly teaching staff Melissa! Your Thursday night at 7 PM offering is called Move To Melt! What are the vibes? What can someone expect from this class?

🔥I created this class for those who would love a beautiful peaceful space to unwind, quiet their minds, and find flow within their bodies after a full day. The vibes would be warm, welcoming, and relaxed...Come as you are and begin with grounding and breath as we progress to a gentle qigong inspired flow that will allow us to "Move" to clear away excessive energy, emotions, or stress. Next, we will make our way about midway through class to reclined restorative poses to release holding and tension using the wall and or props. We will "Melt" into relaxation and breath. A 15 minute Savasana will follow with an option for a seated meditation. Students are highly encouraged to bring a journal and or sketchbook as we will close class with brief, silent reflection and release as we transition home.

2. Tell us about your day job!

🔥By day I am a full time art teacher at Thompson Valley High School in Loveland where I am lucky enough to teach metalsmithing and jewelry, ceramics, and a college level studio class! I can't believe this is my 22nd year of teaching... I have found such joy in seeing students make connections to who they are through their creativity. I  am so excited to continue this journey through teaching this unique class combining movement, yoga, journaling and sketching at Be Free!

3. What’s lighting up your world currently? 🔥SO MANY THINGS light up my world these days.. My 11 year old son Evan is always learning new tricks at the skate park and is always making me laugh. I have been married for about 19 years to my best friend who always makes life an adventure. My dog Sadi is also a huge source of joy - All things art and travel (I make my own jewelry and just recently went to Orcas island for the first time, wow!) and of course this path of yoga has completely transformed my life!

4. What something people might not know about you?

🔥Hmmmm people might not know that I grew up in a tiny mountain town called Pine Junction about 45 miles west of Denver. There wasn't much to do up there haha (Nature wasn't that cool till later) so I was known to build forts and create special clubs for my 3 sisters, neighbors and I. We also did our own dance recitals and made costumes for our cats....Maybe that's part of why I am an art teacher now! I grew to greatly appreciate the mountains, all things nature, and the value of creativity.

5. What do you love about Be Free?

🔥Be Free is such a transformative studio. The things I appreciate most about this special place are the authenticity, wholeness, and community that are so alive here. Anyone and everyone can come and feel seen and appreciated for who they are no matter where they happen to be on their journey. It is such a huge honor to become part of this incredible staff. I hope to see you soon.
